Description
Santorini is a Greek island and is part of a group of islands which are called Cyclades in the southern Aegean Sea.
The coastal village of Oia is located on the northwestern tip of Santorini and is approximately 150 meters above sea level. Oia is the most picturesque village in Santorini and it's one of the most photographed places in the world.
In Oia the whitewashed houses are carved into the rugged clifftops. The cave houses were dug into the volcanic rock on the cliffs, these houses were the homes of ship crews and the other type of houses, Captain houses belonged to ship owners. There are also blue domed churches and many of the churches were dedicated to sailors.
